獵雀：晚近澳門葡人入粵狩獵研究（1893－1937）

China’s first hunting law was introduced in the early years of the Republic of China and was heavily influenced by Japanese hunting laws. As early as 1893, the Governor of Macao, Custódio Miguel de Borja, intervened with the Governor of Guangdong, Gangyi, over the issue of Macao’s Portuguese hunting in Guangdong and suggested that Guangdong localities should learn from Japan to enact hunting legislation, and since then, the local government officials of Guangdong imposed restrictions on hunting areas, and Macao’s Portuguese were allowed to enter Guangdong for hunting. Under the Peking Government, Guangdong preceded the Central Government in issuing regulations to regulate the entry of Macao’s Portuguese into Guangdong for hunting. From 1927 to 1937, Guangdong implemented the Guangdong Provisional Measures, the Peking Hunting Law, and the New Law of the Nationalist Government. During the period of Chen Jitang’s supervision of Guangdong, the political background of Guangdong’s relative isolation and independence created external conditions for Macao’s Portuguese to enter the Guangdong hunting wave. From the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China, the number of Macao’s Portuguese who went to Guangdong for hunting was not large, mainly including political dignitaries, wealthy merchants, lawyers, doctors, government and company employees, and so on. The main purpose of hunting in Guangdong was for sport and entertainment, but it also had the potential for friendship, so the Portuguese hunting in Guangdong had limited damage to the environment of Guangdong during the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China.
