澳門佛教界的愛國傳統及對佛教文化的傳承

The Macao Buddhist circles have a long tradition of patriotism. Since the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, the Macao Buddhist community has inherited the teachings from the mainland and passed on the torch of wisdom and virtue. The patriotic sentiments, the spirit of seeking innovation and survival, the anti-Japanese Fascism patriotism and the post-handover ideology of “love motherland, love Macao, love Buddhism” of the Buddhist Community can be described as continuous. While propagating Buddhism, the Macao Buddhist community also shoulders the responsibility of promoting traditional Chinese culture. It is the steadfastness and inheritance of the Macao Buddhist community that has enabled Chinese Buddhist culture to flourish in Macao and be highly welcomed by followers. As a major force in patriotism for both mainland China and Macao, the Macao Buddhist community has played a special role in the successful practice of the Macao Special Administrative Region’s characteristic “One Country, Two Systems”.
