寺島良安《和漢三才圖會》所反映16－17 世紀傳入日本的西方知識和西方文化

Wakan Sansai Zue is the largest encyclopedic work in the mid-17th century compiled by Japanese scholar Terajima Ryōan. Influenced by the introduction of Nanban Gaku and Rangaku, Wakan Sansai Zue recorded a large amount of Western knowledge and culture in Japan, which provided a valuable source for the study of the Japan-West relationship in the 16th to 17th Centuries. Base on this source, this work aims to introduce and review Japan-West cultural exchange in the following aspects: the record of geographical knowledge of the West and its Asian occupied territories in the 16th and 17th centuries; the record of the introduction of Western technology and industrial products to Japan; the record of exotic animals, plants and food imported into Japan.
