2016年修訂的立法會選制與第六屆立法會選舉實踐分析

The Amendment of the Election Law for the Legislative Assembly in 2016 clearly regulated election activities, effectively implemented election management, reasonably amended election conditions and cracked down on illegal election action. In accordance with the new election law, the 6th Legislative Election was held in 2017. The process and result of the election illustrated intense competition among groups running for direct election and more and more diversified political powers. In the aspect of election management and fairness, bribery and irregular election behaviors have been greatly reduced and the election culture shows improvement. Thus it can be said that the amendment of the Election Law has achieved favourable effects. However, the election law still has room for improvement.
