教育經濟與澳門經濟適度多元發展

Macao heavily relies on its gaming industry to pursue economic prosperity, but the mono-structure causes economic instability, and diversification seems to be the only solution. At present, the education industry is prevalent in the world, and economists generally believe that the development of the education industry can bring huge benefits. Macao’s higher education system has been significantly improved, and it has directly and indirectly fostered local economic development. In light of the Greater Bay Area, Macao’s education industry is facing new challenges and opportunities. The shortage of land resources, limited market demand and insufficient staff quality have restricted the development of Macao’s education industry. Through cooperation with Hengqin, it is possible to break through restrictions and bring valuable resources such as funds and talents. This article summarizes the existing strengths and weaknesses of Macao, puts forward four major measures to develop its education industry, and points out the importance of the cooperation between Macao and Hengqin to strengthen the development of Macao’s education industry.
