“Guangzhou-Macau” was the outpost port and destination of the relationship and trade between China and western countries from the 16th to 18th centuries. The trade among Asia, Europe and America was then centered on the “Guangzhou-Macau” market, where silver was not only a unit of currency and means of settlement, but also a form of commodity.
