晚清來華傳教士與西方經濟學的輸入

The history of “West Learning Spreading to the East” was an important part of Sino-foreign cultural exchange activities during the late Qing dynasty. Communication of western economics in China was one of the most important subjects. It had an impact on the formation and changes of many economic thoughts in modern China as well as on social development and evolution. Protestant missionaries through newspapers, books and other channels communicated Western economic theories, as well as beneficial trade and free trade ideas into China before communication of the systematic Western economic knowledge into China, which has further boosted development and influenced some scholars’ thoughts. After the Second Opium War the Protestant missionaries communicated Western systematic economic policies into China and at the same time they translated Western economics works, providing political and economic courses for Chinese students in the missionary school, which had an important effect on the thoughts of the Modernization of China and other relevant movements.
