從冼玉清求醫窺探民國時期廣州知識分子對中西醫的認知

1935 年 5—9 月，嶺南大學副教授冼玉清患病，先後在穗港兩地選擇十多位中西醫治療，延宕數月最終康復。病癒後冼玉清撰寫《更生記》詳細記錄治病求醫經歷，從患者視角記敘了求醫中不斷在中、西醫間徘徊的過程，反映出在周圍親友的影響和多方考量下，冼玉清不囿於中西醫間之畛域，最終自主擇醫的歷程。本文以此為個案進行研究，試圖窺探民國時期廣州知識分子對中西醫相容並蓄、開放包容的態度。

From May to September 1935, XIAN Yuqing, an associate professor of Lingnan University, became ill. She successively selected more than 10 Chinese and Western medicine treatments in Guangzhou and Hong Kong, and finally recovered after several months’ delay. After recovering from illness, XIAN Yuqing wrote a detailed record of the experience of seeking medical treatments. From the perspective of patients, she narrated the process of constantly wandering between Chinese and Western medicine in seeking medical treatment, reflecting on the changes of patients’ psychological course of seeking medical treatment under the influence of their relatives and friends and with the considerations of many parties. This paper takes this as a case to explore the cognition of Guangzhou intellectuals on traditional Chinese and Western medicine in the period of the Republic of China.
