Project Title:
Research on the Linkage Effect of Wage ladders in the Low-Paid Industries 2021-2023

Introduction:
Commissioned by the Macau SAR government, the Center for Macau Studies of the University of Macau is currently conducting a study on “Linkage Effect of Wage ladders in Low-paid Industries” to examine the implementation and promotion of Law No. 5/2020 “Minimum Wages for Employees” by the Macau SAR government. The purpose of the research is to get an in-depth assessment and analysis of the impact of the implementation of the minimum wage on businesses, the labour market, macroeconomic and social development in Macau. Furthermore, the results from this research provide a scientific foundation for future amendments of the minimum wage laws.

Study Targets:
Low-paid employees and enterprises that have at least one low-paid employee
