On July 25, the Centre for Macau Studies (CMS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Macau Model United Nations Promotion Association (MMUNPA), officially establishing a long-term partnership focused on academic research and youth development. The signing ceremony was officiated by Prof. Agnes, Lam Iok Fong, Director of CMS, and Ms. Ho Suk-yee, President of MMUNPA.
Prof. Agnes, Lam Iok Fong, Director of CMS expressed her warm welcome and appreciation for the collaboration, noting that the Centre has long been committed to advancing local and regional research while actively nurturing young scholars. She emphasized that the partnership will leverage the complementary strengths of both parties in research and practical education, aiming to create innovative cooperation models and broaden international exchange platforms for young students, thereby deepening the concept of global citizenship education.
Ms. Ho Suk-yee, President of MMUNPA, stated that the Association has consistently dedicated itself to cultivating global citizenship awareness among youth. The collaboration with the Macau Research Centre will further enhance the professionalism and impact of related educational activities, foster cross-sectoral dialogue, and realize the mission of “injecting global perspectives into local communities.”
Since 2024, the two organizations have already collaborated on the “Summer Student Researcher Training Program,” which has yielded positive results. Moving forward, CMS and the MMUNPA will continue to integrate quality resources, deepen the scope of cooperation, and jointly nurture a new generation of young talents with international vision and social responsibility, contributing to the development of the Greater Bay Area.
